California GPS Companion

The California Companion was the fifth book in the series when it was introduced in 1997. It was by far the largest and most complete of the books, with over 8,100 listings. The first printing sold out and the book was revised in late 1998, with new features like the "Points Around the USA" listings added.

Elevations

Elevations are included for every location possible, over 6,100 in all. In fact, 5,313 of the 5,338 cities and towns include the elevation. Of course all of the 267 airports are listed with elevation. And there are 369 mountain summits with elevations as well.

New Features

We try to include any locations that YOU might want to find. In the original California book we added golf courses for the first time, 385 in all. We also added over 180 colleges and universities.

Location Summary

Note: Buildings include landmarks like the Hearst Castle and the Cliff House as well as exhibition halls and pavilions. Locales include a wide variety of areas like the Cannery in San Francisco, Sandia Labs, and the Queen Mary.
